DEEP Consortium for HQPD
High Quality Professional Development (HQPD) is the long-term ongoing coaching and mentoring of adinistration, faculty, families, board members and donors of a school in a holistic way so as to create the ripe environment for effective student learning. HQPD is not just planning for sessions during a professional day, it involves reflective practitioners who can raise student achievement by growing their own practice every day. Whether working with me on Israel education or with others in the field in Hebrew language, text study, civics and democratic ideals or other such areas, we will all model and inspire educators in best practices from research, including differentiation for all learners, formal and informal assessments, lesson planning for engagement, social/emotional learning and so much more.
I and other DEEP Consortium members met for 2 days with key paretners, including Mayberg Foundation Trustee Manette Mayberg, Executive Director Todd J. Sukol, UnitEd Jewish Education Director of English-Speaking countries Rabbi Scot A. Berman, and DEEP supporters Arnee Winshall and Walter Winshall at Hebrew College in Boston, February 2025.
Together, we engaged in a workshop on how using an abundance mindset can help to trigger greater investment in HQPD. We also discussed the newly launched Concierge Desk. This free service helps schools identify their high quality professional development needs, and find the right DEEP provider to met their goals.
We were able to share our new concierge service for schools seeking HQPD and several signed up to learn more about the process.
